The Scout & Molly’s Franchise Owner
Owner Operator or Semi-Absentee Ownership
Owner Operator
Some store owners will choose to be owner operators. In this scenario the store owner takes on the role of the store manager managing the day to day operations of the business in a very hands on way. This owner will be responsible for managing all of the employees, creating schedules, handling store finances, making inventory choices, seeing that the merchandising of the store is taken care of and of course handling customers as well as marketing. Of course many duties or tasks can be delegated to other staff members, but the owner/manager will need to create a plan for all of this.
Semi-Absentee Ownership
The other type of ownership role is a semi-absentee owner. This type of owner hires a store manager to oversee all of the duties listed above. This type of owner will not be working in the store on a daily basis and often times will have another job and / or other investments that she/he is managing. The store manager will report back to the owner and the owner will also have access to the store’s Point of Sale System (POS) as a way to keep up with sales and inventory information. The store manager will be trained in the operations of a Scout & Molly’s Franchise and that training will be comprehensive and is designed to flow down to all employees working in any Scout & Molly’s Boutique.
